With an inspiring view over the Douro river and the surrounding landscape, close to Covelinhas station, you will find the Main House of Quinta dos Murças. Built in the early 19th century, it retains the characteristics of the original house with a large balcony facing the river and a garden with a swimming pool. Its typology and divisions were changed to allow for a larger room and suites.

In terms of decoration, its English-influenced aesthetic, typical of Douro houses, is combined with antique pieces, wallpapers and paintings with illustrations and images of the Douro.

Those who stay at the house can experience the farm and the region as a whole in an authentic and protected way.

The House has 5 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 10 people, who can enjoy the gardens, swimming pool and participate in the Estate’s daily routines, whether in the fields, the winery or even the kitchen. The living room features a veranda overlooking the river and is the perfect place to relax, read or even play the piano. The dining room is a space to share experiences and conversation around the table.

The kitchen is fully equipped and available for guests to use.

If requested, we can provide cribs and highchairs, among other accessories for children.

Meals

This is a house with self-catering – the kitchen is fully equipped and available for guests to use, with groceries delivered, as well as other products from the Estate.

Meals can be enjoyed in the dining room or, if you prefer, in the garden, around a large table.

On an Estate in the Douro, wine is naturally a part of any meal, so please feel free to visit the shop and choose what you would like to bring to the table.

There is an honesty bar for guests in the kitchen. Help yourself at any time.

Accomodation includes

Boat transportation to Cais da Folgosa pier; breakfast; access to the swimming pool, garden and different areas of the house, as well as exclusive access to the Estate’s daily routines (fields, kitchen and winery); free wi-fi in the living room; air conditioning.
