The Quinta dos Murças Margem comes from vineyards by the Douro river bank, where some of the oldest plots of the estate are located. Its low altitude and its mostly southern sun exposure result in grapes with greater concentration and ripeness.

It was a dry year, in which despite large fluctuations, the average temperature and rainfall were lower than usual. With the exception of July, where there were two heat waves. The summer was slightly cooler, allowing for a longer ripening cycle of the grapes, which contributes to good phenolic ripeness, preservation of acidity and good sanitary conditions. We started harvesting the Margem plot on 13 September.
