The Quinta dos Murças Margem comes from vineyards by the Douro river bank, where some of the oldest plots of the estate are located. Its low altitude and its mostly southern sun exposure result in grapes with greater concentration and ripeness.

This was another atypical year in the Douro, Winter was cold and dry. Spring was cold and very rainy, and Summer, initially cold and rainy, then turned hot and extremely dry, marked by effects of sunstroke and dehydration at the beginning of August. This unstable climate had substancial impact on the decline in production. Ripening occurred later that usual; therefore we only began to harvest Minas vineyards on 24th of September. The grapes presented very good acidity, resulting in fresh, aromatic and elegant wines.

Deep, with hints of violet.
Very intense and exuberant, with ripe black fruits such as blackberry and blackcurrant standing out.
Concentrated and with good acidity, it has very ripe tannins that give it a sense of volume and body. It has a long and persistent finish, dominated by aromas of ripe fruits. As a whole, they can be expected to last a long time.
