Produced from the grapes of the first vineyard planted in Herdade do Esporão in 1980, this wine expresses the unique characteristics of the Canto do Zé Cruz vineyard, of the Aragonez variety and the dedication of those who made it.
A cold and rainy winter, followed by a mild summer with wide variations in temperature, allowed the vines to mature well, resulting in balanced and intense wines.
Vineyard in integrated production mode, where the pruning system is Double Guyot, conducted in an upward vertical monoplane. The harvest is done by hand.

Harvested on September 30th, 2014. Fermented in marble lagares. Malolactic fermentation in cement tanks followed by 12 months aging in new French oak barrels.
Wine from “Canto do Zé Cruz” vineyard, one of the oldest vineyards in Herdade do Esporão. Produces grapes with intense colour and concentrated aromas. Early ripener with good yields producing wine with balanced alcohol and acidity and with excellent ageing potential.
