Located in the Lima Valley, the Vinho Verde wine region, Quinta do Ameal is an ancient estate dating back to 1710. Boasting rare natural beauty, the property spans 30 hectares, approximately 14 of which are occupied by vineyards and 8 are forests comprising mainly walnut, chestnut and umbrella pine trees.
The rest of the estate consists of houses, gardens and more than 800 m of Lima riverbank. From the mix of altitudes ranging from 12 and 53 metres, its climate, and its deep and fertile granite soils, unique wines are born, with character and outstanding ageing potential.
Exceptional Loureiro grapes are grown here in a sustainable fashion, giving rise to unique white wines such as Ameal Loureiro, Ameal Solo Único, and Ameal Reserva.
The estate’s tourism facility can serve as either a refuge and/or a launchpad for discovering the Loureiro grape and its home in the Lima River Valley. Accommodation, winery visits, wine tastings and outdoor activities are all on offer. The swimming pool, the garden and the porches are all welcoming spots for a brief moment of rest.
