The magazine wine critic, Roger Voss, considered Quinta dos Murças VV47 2013 “textured, rich in tannins and concentrated in black fruit flavors. With its current powerful structure, it is still developing” (as published in Wine Enthusiast).

Regarding Quinta dos Murças Margem 2016, which received 91 points, the critic highlights: “From vertical vineyards that run straight up the hillside, an innovation in the mountainous Douro, this ripe blend of Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca is rich in tannins as well as black fruits. It has a firm texture that boasts a black plum flavor, bright acidity and a hint of wood aging” (as published in Wine Enthusiast).

Roger Voss, gave 90 points to Quinta dos Murças Minas 2016, “This wine is made from a single vineyard that is situated between 1,200 and 1,600 feet in elevation. It is poised between structured black fruits and firm tannins, which gives the wine fine potential” (as published in Wine Enthusiast).

In October, Roger Voss classified Quinta dos Murças Reserva 2012  with 94 points, Editors Choice. This is the third consecutive vintage to achieve this score, “Now just on the point of maturity, this is an impressive, rich and structured wine. Its bold tannins are balanced by the ripe black plum and berry flavors. It is a dense wine coming from the high altitude Murças estate owned by Alentejo-based Esporão (as published in Wine Enthusiast).
