“With this substantial investment, we intend to achieve new levels of quality, reducing the harvest period to 2 weeks, prolonging fermentation and investing in production flexibility and efficiency, increasing this winery’s production capacity by 50%, thereby adjusting to current and future growth”, explains João Roquette, CEO of Esporão.
The new Monte Velho Winery project results from the experience and know-how gained over three decades: the most advanced technology adapted exclusively to produce Monte Velho red, greater flexibility and control for total traceability and separation of wines produced under certified organic production, focus on temperature and energy management. Automating and digitalising processes and circuits also enables extraordinary resource efficiency.
The dedicated red wine Winery – namely, the Monte Velho Winery, will also be included in the Guided Tour of Herdade do Esporão’s Wine Tourism and in the story we share of the Monte Velho brand.
